About Us

The Research group on Embedded System and Reconfigurable Computing (RESRC) was formed in 2011 by Professor Marcelo A. C. Fernandes and a group of students aiming to develop solutions associated with complex algorithms in embedded systems and reconfigurable hardware. Among the various works performed are several solutions of techniques of Artificial Intelligence in hardware platforms. After nearly seven years of existence the group has been consolidating nationally and internationally with several publications and partnerships with institutes and universities . Today the group is composed of 6 Doctorate students, 4 masters students and 20 undergraduate students. Studying solutions on implementations of complex algorithms in embedded systems and reconfigurable computing, on emerging areas such as Artificial inteligence, Tactile Internet, Internet of Things, Bioinformatics and others.

RESRC works in two laboratories located at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) in Natal, RN, Brazil. The laboratories are Laboratory of Machine Learning and Intelligent System (MLIS) and Information Processing Laboratory (IPL). MLIS is located at IMD / UFRN Research and Innovation Center in Information Technology (nPITI) and IPL at the Department of Computer Engineering and Automation (DCA).
